JC, Rosie and Reese had their last convo in Reese and Rosie’s chat room before JC’s big day…The day he has longed for.

We laughed, we cried…

We hugged and we loved!

JC’s dad arrives….JC is so thrilled. We told him he must be pretty special to his dad for him to make the trip…all alone…he agrees proudly “yes, I am his SON”.

Bianca is out searching…..searching for that perfect dress.

Friends are planning…making sure of every last detail.

Earlier in the day Rosie asked me if I received my invite in the mail. I replied with “not yet, but our mail is running on the late side today”…I then asked if she received hers and she replied “I received a restraining order”…oh so funny!

Reese to Rosie, “Rosie, I wish we could do something special for JC and Bianca for their wedding” and Rosie came up with the brightest, neatest idea. Skywriting!...yup, skywriting!!! Oh this would have just been perfect…..The cost was anywhere between 1 and 5 thousand dollars. Rosie figured if we were to go through with this, we could only afford 2 letters which would be “hi”.

We will be with you! Scrunched down on our bellies…Rosie wriggles and giggles and cries a river…I knew she would…..I calm her…

My Heart Loves This Dance

Life Goes On in all its Messiness

I was extremely upset this morning.   I had slept till 10 and woke up wet and hot.  Not sexy hot; Florida Hot...   The men had left me early to go to work and school and the dog had pushed her way in or out our back bedroom door, leaving it wide open and the hot summer sun had climbed in and slept on top of me for hours.   The air conditioner was disgusted and decided to go cool other rooms and I woke up with open pores and mosquitoes drinking  at my ankles.   I slapped a mosquito off my leg and my own blood exploded from its body.  My hair hung like a wet mop wig ringing my face.   There was no coffee by my bed.  This princess had been abandoned to cope on her own.

I would not last long in a jungle.  


So I walk around in a daze, taking in the ambiance of a squalid chaotic house that looks like frat boys live in it. I went to the coffee maker and it had cold mud stored in the carafe.  Yeah. I'll drink it in a bit.  I make a two second cheese sandwich, not bothering with mustard, lettuce, tomato, anything civilized.  I decide to take the little extra time to remove the white wax paper, since it slows down on the chewing.   Lifeless low carb bread, left out open to the air and muenster cheese.  I get fancy and offset the one slice from the other, making a star with it.

On Friday we were served our foreclosure lawsuit papers and we have only 20 days to respond to it. so it means it's time to hire a lawyer. Today.  No more delay.   I must deal with this huge issue right now.  

Sitting at the table, I flip through a stack of ads for foreclosure attorneys.  Shiny ones, glossy booklets,  modest recycled paper, how will I decide which one to pick to sludge more of our savings to.  I go for location, and pick the one who looks like a stubby boxing manager from Brooklyn.  Oh boy.

but I don't call yet, cause I am near tears and I will not blubber to a phone girl about my dashed dreams and feelings of hopeless and confusion.  I'm not going to let anyone see me cry or weak.   I wait for the coffee to kick in and I go get dressed.

Red expensive T-shirt that gives  me courage, I'd slipped it on purpose.  Brush to my mop that has since dried and now stands at 90 degrees to my head.  I slick it down.   I get my kick ass support bra on, by hooking it together, stepping into it, pulling it up my knees, sliding it past the thighs, flipping it over the belly and finally seating it on my chest.  Someday I need to make a youtube of that process. It's a simply brilliant adaptation to being unable to twist my bra around from the back to front at waist level like most women put on their bras.  Who would of thought of coming up from the bottom like that?  It involves almost no pain, and anytime I can get dressed without pain is a good day.  Plus it makes me laugh, every single time.   My bra seems happy to be gliding along my curves and rarely snags or tangles that way.  It just jumps up ready to be supportive.


I've got my shoes on now, panting and red faced.  My mosquito bites have stopped itching so bad.  Still I'm not ready to face people, conversations, decisions...  I go look for my online buddies.  JC I know is going to be busy and blissed out.  I refuse to dump my angst on him, even if I would be able to find him on.   Reese.. a note tells me she's at labs.  No distractions to be had. 

I got to find me some calm and courage.   Ah. the blog.  I re read the last 20 days.   I grin.  I remember.  I imagine.   I draw fuel from it.   I relax and giggle.  My mind starts to work correctly.  I'm awake and alert now.


So I read a few more lawyers advertisements,   I bite my lip and choose.  I call and get an appointment.   Today at 6 pm.   The final acts in our long foreclosure drama are scheduled. 


I sure didn't want to do it, but I did.   I"m so proud I got the best of my anxiety and second guessing and hand wringing.  No one will know I had been so upset.   My secret is safe with you, right?

today i hit my limit
sitting talking to my friends
i realized i just cant keep torturing her.. making her wait and wonder.
i cant keep torturing myself over the unknown.
she is my everything and i must know if she will have me.

and i am anxious to start the next chapter of our lives.. not just mine.

patience is not my strong suit
im still impetuous
but im wiser
stronger
settled

i found a letter
on the kitchen table
my name
in her lovely script..
"Wen
~no opening this until after dinner~"

ENOUGH!!

i went back to work frazzled and left goodbyes for my friends.. saying i need a break. we are overwhelmed. it was time.

and then i came home.
the letter sitting propped up against.. the box.
and the love of my life sitting at the table with a soft hopeful.. searching smile.
once the dogs settle and are headed outdoors.. i turn and she is rushing into my arms.
all smiles and tears and kisses
and i ask her.. worried.. what is wrong.
and she says
nothing. im just.. so happy.

dinner is quick.
the dogs given their treats and happily curled around our feet..
and i take her hand and look into her eyes.
she slips me the letter
and i just sit looking down at it
wondering what is inside
but i cant seem to bring myself to open it..
my hands are
immobile.
she takes it.. opens it and hands it back to me..
her face a mixture of emotions

and i read.
her words.
her heart.
all her hopes.
all her fears.
all the little secrets locked away so tight..
all the things she has said.. and more.. and more..
all the depth of her love for me.. laid out in a beautiful handwritten letter.
for my eyes only.
her heart to mine.

i realize im crying. oh sentimental tears! i look up and she is beaming through tears of her own.
i sweep her up into my arms and carry her upstairs..
we are both in tears.. kissing
i kick open the door to her new little room and flick on the light
i gently set her down on the little chair i had placed in the room..
her eyes open wide.. and her hand flies over her mouth..
more tears
as i fall to my knee before her
reach into my pocket and find the ring i had been toying with all day..
my words a blur as i promise to love her forever
promise to take care of her and care for her
pour my heart out to her
tell her my life is hers
would she have me..?

the gasp
the swoon
the smile
the tears
and finally........................................................YES! oh yes yes yes yes wen.. yessssssssss!!!

she lies sleeping at my side as i type these words. my fiancee. my future.
i love her. and she will have me.
and i will sleep the sleep of a satisfied man tonight.
insatiable.. no more.

Netflix cracks me up

I just finished a heartwarming chat with Reese and JC and was all smiles and glowing from being happy for him. 

I checked into Netflix, for no good reason, before I turned off my laptop to go to bed, and there it is.

Hey! imma star…

Every Wednesday I attend bingo with BJ. We have our own special table which is the first one as you enter into the clubhouse. I sit at the end, BJ sits to the right of me and Gib who is a very close friend sits at my left side. We have 3 seats reserved for us by my friends mom Irene. She and her husband open the doors about 3:45 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:00 p.m. sharp! When we arrive, BJ saves the seat next to her for her bingo friend Chuck and next to Gib I save a spot for Chuck’s grandma who is 90 and drives 24 miles each way just to play bingo. She is in marvelous shape, although she has slowed down a tad since her tumble down her porch steps a few months back. Didn’t break a bone in her body!!! Next to her, I would seat my oldest daughter.

The jackpot has been building and is now worth well over 3500. I wanted to get there extra early so I could save extra seats for our little groupie. BJ and I arrive about 5:10 p.m. Plenty of time since bingo doesn’t start for almost 2 more hours.

Walking through the wooden doors, my eyes immediately popped when I seen 4 elderly women at my table. My table!!!! Everyone knows that’s my table….except for people who only come when they hear the jackpot is high!!!

What!!! Now what can I do??? BJ tries moving a saved sheet next to her, but one woman snapped back at her “that spot is reserved for someone”. This is allowed so there isn’t much I can do…first come, first serve sorta speak! I don’t have a STAR like I do in OMG so I can’t kick em…lol…3 out of 4 are at least 80, wait, maybe 90. I love aged people. There are 2 on the right side, 2 on the left side and I am at the head of the table. I just glare and when I get a look back at me, I smile. One lady smells popcorn…mmmm, she says, that popcorn smells good…do they sell it here? I replied, yes they do, it costs a buck and you go back to the bar and order it and they make it and bring it out to you when it is ready. She smiles and gets her buck out. She waits, I listen to my I-pod, she waits, I still listen….then I asked “did you want some popcorn” and she said “yes, but I don’t see anyone coming out with it”. I said “you have to go back and order it first” … then I politely asked if she would like me to order it for her…yes she said, could you please. So I did…with a smile!

I donated my money that evening, and so did BJ, Gib, Chuck and grandma, but my oldest daughter won 65.00. She almost walked away with the jackpot…she needed only 1 number…BUT in bingo, if you only need 1 number, you might as well need 10...close does not count. It only gets your heart racing!

Progressive Jackpot was won by 2 players…one a regular and the other came from miles away after hearing how high the jackpot had grown.

Now, we regulars start all over again…build build build!!! in hopes of someday winning that jackpot and being a star!

mother's day

i know the family
well
